CNC and Machine Tool Tending

The loading and unloading of CNC machines is one of the most traditional application in industrial robotic. In the last few years it is evolving primarily through the creation of complex robotic lines, where the robot's manipulation activity is just one component of a broader and more sophisticated process. In these robotic lines, a wide range of additional operations are performed, ranging from small assemblies to deburring, loading and unloading of industrial washers, and even leak tests and functional tests. A fundamental element that contributes to the success of this approach is the use of advanced vision systems, which can be either 2D or 3D, to guide the object picking process. These vision systems enable robots to accurately identify the position and orientation of objects, ensuring precise management of operations.
